The office has been presented with heart shaped Smiley cookies and a heart shaped strawberry cake. I've been given a cute tote of candy. Mister called with an exuberant Valentine greeting and it's only 9:40 a.m. What a wonderful way to begin a day of love! Love! Love! Love! Isn't it grand! Speaking of love, here are a list of a few of my favorite Love stories.
This romantic comedy starring Cher, Nicholas Cage, Danny Aiello, Vincent Gardenia and Olympia Dukakis, is a feel-good film. It just makes you smile long after its over.
This romantic drama takes place during the Great Depression and OMG! it's a tear jerker. My children refuse to watch this with me because I cry from the beginning to the end. It tears me apart. Warren Beatty makes his debut in this film as Bud Stamper and Natalie Wood, lovely as ever, plays Deenie Loomis, a teenage girl so in love with Bud, both teens follow their parents' not so great advice and the rest, well, excuse me, I need to get a tissue.
Love the movie, love the book. Ooh, actually, I have my Grandmother's Vintage 1939 Gone With The Wind Motion Picture Movie Book Edition. I keep it wrapped in plastic because it is not in mint condition. I really have to talk to a book dealer and have it restored. It's lovely and that book is long! Oh, but it makes for delightful reading!!! There is so much that is not in the movie.
Other movies I love:
Dr. Zviago - the original! Omar Sharif and Julie Christie (pass the hanky)
The Notebook - Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams (pass the hanky)
A Star is Born - Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson (pass the hanky)
Duel in the Sun - Jennifer Jones and Joseph Cotton (pass the hanky)
The Bridges of Madison County - Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep (pass the hanky)
I could go on and on, but I am running out of hankies.
Happy Valentine's Day!
